Design and Usability
The theme had been designed focusing on the readability. Paragraph width, the font and the colors selected for creating perfect reading experience. Even if you have the option to choose fonts, the theme doesn’t allow to change font-size, font-spacing and letter-spacing because ıt might ruin the correct readability settings.
Having a full-screen cover page has pros and cons. It creates attractive view when a user opens the website. However, according to the usability tests, people doesn’t scroll if you satisfy when the web page open. Another useful feature including usability is the read time. It displays approximate read time for the article with calculating the article’s word count. People might have predict how many minute take when i read the article.
The literatum theme has not remarkable features. It has video covers, third part comments (Disqus, facebook and Google+). Other features is same as WordPress defaults. The only good functionality is the interview support which means you can add comments on a sentence in the article. Medium.com is frequently using the feature on their community.

Updates & Support and Documentation
The latest update has been released on 24 March 2016 including some minor bugs. The theme doesn’t develop themselves with new features. Therefore you should aware of that the updates have been made to be compatible with WordPress’s new versions.
Support is terrific! On the ThemeForest comments, you can see some comment was written 3 months ago and the author doesn’t answer it yet.
The documentation doesn’t have enough information for theme installation. It has some general frequently asked question not more.
If you need to focus on content and you don’t need some extra feature for a theme, Literatum could be a good choice for you. It has good design and usability but not enough functionality. Moreover, when you trouble with a problem you might can’t get any response from author for 2 month! So you should deal with it yourself.
